Biomectin

Anthelminthic nematocide insecticide acaricide and hypodermicide

 Composition

Ivermectin ¨C 1.0 g
Excipient ¨C 100 ml

 Properties

Ivermectin is a derivative of Avermectin belonging to the macrocyclical lactams group, isolated from fermentative products of Streptomyces avermitilis. It acts on the extremities of the nerves, which neurotransmitter is ¦Ã -aminobutyric acid (GABA). It is active against roundworms and ectoparasites. Ivermectin increases the release of GABA at the end of the nerves involving the blocking of the impulses transmission between the driving neurones. The parasite dies by paralysis.
